Basic Skill Levels
Yogi and Boo Boo (Formerly Parent and Me)
Designed for children 3 to 5 years old that have never had formal instruction. Basic skating skills will be taught to the children while allowing the parent to participate on the ice with them.
Cubbies (Formerly Snowplow 1)
Designed to teach basic skills to children ages 4 through 6 who have never had instruction in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.
Hockey Cubbies
This class is a pre-requisite for the Mighty Mite program. It is designed to teach basic skills to skaters who want to learn how to play hockey.
Advanced Cubbies (Formerly Snowplow 2-3)
For children 4 through 6. At this level the child should be able to glide across the ice. The child will begin to learn the proper method of pushing and gliding across the ice. Forward swizzles and back wiggles are also taught.
Teddy Bears (Formerly Basic 1& 2)
Learning the proper way to fall and get up from a kneeling position, skating forward across the rink without falling, gliding forward on two feet, forward and backward two-foot swizzles, snowplow stop, gliding forward on one foot, and two-foot hop while moving.
Koalas (Formerly Basic 3 & 4)
Forward stroking (utilizing correct use of blade and neat footwork), two-foot turn from forward to backward, forward crossovers, and one foot snowplow stop.
Pandas (Formerly Basic 5)
Backward stroking, backward to forward two-foot turn on a circle, backward crossovers, and T-stops
Kodiaks (Formerly Basic 6)
Forward outside edges, forward inside edges, forward outside and inside three turns, hockey stop.
Polars (Formerly Basic 7 & 8)
Back outside edges, back inside edges, forward inside open mohawks, seven step mohawk combination, and lunge.
Adult & Teen
Designed for teens and adults ages 16 & up. It will follow the five basic levels and will have a more progressive curriculum.
Introduction to Figure Skating
These classes are designed to introduce the skater to the next level of skating. Must have passed the Polar level. Complete all 5 classes and earn your Advanced Figure Skating Patch.
Beginning Jumps and Spins
Designed to introduce the skater to the next level of figure skating. Class will concentrate on beginning jump and spin technique.
Intro to Moves in the Field
This class will introduce skaters to the USFSA Moves in the field. Focus will be on back 3 turns and the Pre-Preliminary test.
Classes to Improve Your Skating Further
Cardio-Blast
A high intense 15 minute power skating workout for skaters in the Kodiak level and up. Raise your heartbeat and increase your stamina.
